SEPPA Merit

From: Administrator (admin) (Sun Apr 24 19:27:41 2005)
The Southeastern Professional Photographers Association, the largest regional affiliate of the Professional Photographers of America, that encompasses states from Delaware to Florida and Mississippi to Puerto Rico, just awarded a merit for one of David’s prints with the highest score from Delaware.

From: John L Shipman M.Photog., CR, CPP (Tue May 10 15:55:26 2005)
Congratulations to everyone who earned a PPA seal at the SEPPA Regional Competition, and a triple congratulations to David Koster for getting a score of 85 on his print titled “Woops”. 85 is a remarkable achievement when you consider that SEPPA is ranked as one of the toughest competitions in the nation.
Out of 702 prints entered only 220 scored 80 or higher, that is 31.3%. The PPA international competition averages in the 40 percentile.

David Koster started with the concept of “woops” over a year ago. I was personally involved in some of the discussions on what to do with this print so it would merit. David never gave up on the idea or in getting second, third and even fourth opinions about what to do with it. We have all watched that print almost merit. When others get discouraged and go mumbling off about the judges, Dave went to the judges and made them back up what they had to say. And now comes the kicker – David took the advise of all of this input, sorted it out and moved forward with all that he had learned and the print scored an 85 in what I have previously talked about. Thank You David for showing us by example the great things that can happen from your “Persistence”.
