Several times over the last few years Christina and I decided to have family portraits taken. Since we live at the beach and enjoy it as much as we do, we decided that there was only one viable option. We needed to have beach portraits taken. We currently have three boys, Ty age 7, Brittingham age 5, Vann age 15 months and our first daughter, Lanie Quinn, due in 6 days on April 10, 2008.

Last summer we asked David and the rest of the Portraits in the Sand staff to perform a family photo session using the sand and dunes of Dewey Beach as a backdrop.
In addition to the typical curious and energetic behavior of boys aged seven, five and fifteen months, our 5 year old, Brittingham can present some unusual challenges from time to time. Brittingham has been enrolled at the Consortium in Lewes, Delaware for the last 2 years. The Consortium specializes in education and nurturing of children with special needs such as Autism, which Brittingham was diagnosed with at age 3.

Christina and I wanted to send a short note of thanks to the Portraits in the Sand staff and especially David in making our portraits and the photo session not only manageable, but truly enjoyable. The portraits turned out fantastic. Family and friends have offered endless compliments and my clients have enjoyed them draping the walls of my office. David definitely had to go the extra mile as Christina and I had to work closely with our then 7 month old son, Vann. David worked closely with Brittingham and we were pleased with the way he worked with him to produce great family portraits. However, what really made the experience memorable for the family was David’s ability to attain some great photos of Brittingham as he transitioned from posed portraits to action shots to playing with his brothers. This seems simple enough; however, Brittingham’s major challenge is exactly that, smooth transitions from one activity to the next and David really helped him through these transitions.

Well, our impending addition to the family is due in a few days and as smooth and effortless as David was able to execute our last family photo session, we are certain to be reaching out to the Portraits in the Sand family in the near future to help us capture some unforgettable moments of our newly enlarged family.
Thanks David!
